During the Convention AGM, six new Australasian Hall of Fame Legends will be announced. The Nomination Form is below.
APTTA HALL OF FAME 2025
The Australasian Piano Tuners and Technicians Association Hall of Fame (APTTA Hall of Fame) is the crowning achievement and industry acknowledgment of a technician’s career, as well exemplifies the highest level of peer recognition for an individual’s contribution to the Piano Technicians Trade.
APTTA Hall of Fame recognises and promotes the outstanding achievements of our members to preserve Australasia’s tuning industry and heritage. A unique industry with precision techniques, the Hall of Fame will provide tangible recognition of those outstanding contributions by people over more than four decades, while also creating a new sense of pride and awareness within our industry for the evolving journey of achievements by our members that constantly guides our direction for the future. In 2023, the APTTA inducted 12 Hall of Fame Legends. In 2025, we call upon the membership to induct and acknowledge another 6 worthy and respected Technicians.
APTTA Hall of Fame Membership is divided into two categories;
Selection Criteria.
Nomination Criteria APTTA HALL of FAME: Technical Excellence
1.1 Nominees
a) must be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen.
b) must have obtained an ARPT Status.
c) must have prior training from at least 1 Piano Company / or demonstrated high end excellence with piano building, re-building or concert tuning.
d) must have supported the APTTA or state organisations with inclusion of educational workshops or seminars and/or leadership to improve the industry group.
e) must have the support of their peers.
1.2 Nominees shall not be considered if the following:
a) they have committed or found guilty under Australian or New Zealand Law of a crime against the piano industry or general community.
b) have been found guilty or subjected to any expulsion or disciplinary actions against within the organisation Rules and Regulations or APTTA Code of Ethics.
Nomination Criteria APTTA HALL of FAME: Industry Excellence
2.1 Membership for Industry Excellence was established to recognise those who have shown excellence and had outstanding achievements in roles supportive to their respective organisation.
2.2 The primary requirement for selection as Industry Excellence is a high-level achievement from personal effort or initiative, in a field of endeavour that contributes to the performances of their respective Guild and/or APTTA for the benefit of members and the industry.
2.3 Nominees
a) must be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen.
b) must have a membership status of PROVISIONAL, FULL MEMBER, LIFE MEMBER or ARPT.
c) may have been/or currently an Examiner or contributed to the National Examinations Committee.
d) must have displayed an extraordinary contribution to the Tuners and Technicians organisation through State Guilds, National Association or international representation.
e) contributed to State or National executive office for no less than 6 years.
2.4 Nominees may be involved in other areas but must satisfy the criteria detailed in 2.2 and 2.3.
2.5 Nominees shall not be considered if the following:
a) they have committed or found guilty under Australian or New Zealand Law of a crime against the piano industry or general community.
b) have been found guilty or subjected to any expulsion or disciplinary actions against within the organisation Rules and Regulations or APTTA Code of Ethics.
c) Mere long-term service or involvement within the Piano Tuning Industry or organisation by a candidate without having satisfied the primary requirement in 2.2 and/or demonstrated outstanding achievement arising from personal initiative or innovation is not sufficient justification for selection.

Member(s) who have though advanced training and experience, have attained a high level of competency with merit-based skills that have enriched musicians, the music industry and piano tuning trade with positive support and commitment.
- Industry Excellence
Member(s) who are selected for excellence and outstanding achievements in organisational roles supportive to their respected State. An Examiner/ Lecturer / Teacher / Mentor / Committee or Executive Member that has supported the ideals of the APTTA and respected organisation.
